RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Accent

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Accent we're going to be test-fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. To install the bike rack we'll lift up the carrier and set it on top of our load bars. We'll feed the straps at the head of the bike carrier around our front bar, lock them back into the head and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Then we can reinstall the cover on the head of the bike rack. At the back we'll use the clamp and two wing nuts to secure the rear of the bike rack to our rear load bar. Once we've done that we're ready to load up our bike. We'll make sure that the skewer at the front is open and that the wheel strap at the rear of the bike is also open. We'll pick the bike up, place the rear wheel into the wheel tray and drop the front fork down into our skewer. more

Today on our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint. This is a fork mount roof bike rack, part number TH528. To begin our test fit we'll place our bike rack right up onto our Rhino Rack bars. This is the Vortex Aero setup that we installed earlier. We're going to place the top portion of our clamp right on top of our load bar and bring the black rubber coated metal strap around the underside. We'll do that for both the front and the rear. more

Today on our 2014 Honda Santa Fe Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Front Loader. This is a wheel, front wheel clamp style roof mounted bike rack, it's part number is Y02103. We've got our Rhino Rack Vortek Aero roof rack system already installed on the Santa Fe, so we'll begin our test fit by placing our rack right up onto our cross bars. We're going to loosen the front clamp, I need to loosen the front clamp a little bit more than that. We're then going to slide those right around our front cross bar here, slide it backward so that the small U shaped indention is fitting right on the leading edge of our bar. We'll then tighten the black T handle here on the front, that's going to squeeze our clamp closed and that will secure the front of our rack to our vehicle. With our front nice and secure, let's move to the rear. more

Today on our 2014 Honda Santa Fe Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio. This is a fork mount roof bike rack, part number RU01. We already have the Rhino Rack Vortek Aero roof rack system installed onto our Santa Fe, so we're going to begin our test fit by placing the Trio right up onto our cross bars. At the front, we're going to bring one of our black rubber coated U bolts around the underside of the crossbar, fit up into the head of our carrier and secure it with two cylinder nuts. As you can see, one side is threaded, the other side's head has a hex angle shape to it. We're going to want to put the threaded portion down, so we can get to the hex head side with our Allen tool. We'll thread two of these on here, we're just going to put them on loosely for now just to hold our U bolt in place. more

Today we have a 2013 Hyundai Accent and were going to test fitting the Yakima Frontloader Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number Y02103. To install the carrier, set it on top of our load bars and well fit the head of our bike carrier around the front load bar and use the hand knob to tighten the clamp down. Then well take the clamp in the rear and slide it over our rear load bar and use the T-bolt and included wing nut to tighten it down. With that done, our bike rack is secured to our roof rack and were ready to load up a bike. We need to make sure that the front wheel hoop is up and open. Then well pick up our bike and set it in the carrier. more

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Accent were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number Y02098. To install this bike rack we need to remove the skewer from the head of the bike rack first. Well open up the clamp at the head of the bike rack and fit it around our crossbar and then well tighten it down with a T-bolt and wing nut. Slide the cover back into place and then we can reinstall our skewer. At the back, we need to slide the clamp over our rear crossbar and again, well tighten it down with a T-bolt and wing nut and now were ready to load our bike. Well pick up our bike and place the wheel into the wheel tray and place the front fork down into our skewer. more

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Accent, we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique fork-mounted bike carrier, part number TH513. We've already got our bike carrier assembled according to the instructions, and now we're ready to fit it on top of our roof rack. We'll place the bike rack on top of our bars. Next we need to fit the front clamp around our front load bar, and the rear clamp around the rear, and we'll tighten them down with the included Allen keys. Once we've done that, we can replace the skewer into the head of the bike rack, and we'll be ready to load our bike. We'll go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap, and fit the rear wheel of our bike into the tray. more

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. To mount our Domestique to our Sonata we'll place the carrier on the vehicle and bring the front clamp around the front load bar. We'll start tightening down the front clamp with the included Allen key and then move to the rear clamp. Swing the bracket around the rear bar and tighten it down with the Allen key.We'll move back and forth tightening each end down adjusting the placement as needed. Once our Domestique is secured we can get ready to load our bike. We'll need to put the skewer into the front of the bike rack and loosely tighten it. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today, on this 2013 Hyundai Sonata, we'll be test-fitting the fork-down, roof-mounted Bike Carrier from Swagman, part number S64710. We already have our carrier assembled to the instructions so we're ready to mount it up onto our Sonata. To mount the carrier, we'll place it on top of the front load bar. We'll fit the U Bolts around the load bar and back through the head of the platform and then tighten it down with the wing nuts.With the front half of our fork down carrier secured, we can move to the rear. We'll position the U bolt in the rear of the carrier over our rear bar and secure it using the clamp bracket and the two-wing nuts. Once weve done that, we're almost ready to load our bike. more

RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier from RockyMounts, product number rky1014. To install our TieRod we'll remove the top cover and place it on our Sonata's roof rack and run the rubber straps at the front of the carrier under the front bar. We'll fit the ends of those straps and the head of the TieRod and then swing the rear clamp around our rear bar.With the carrier loosely installed you can adjust the placement until it is in the spot you desire. Once you have your placement we'll use the included Allen wrench to tighten the bolts and the head of the TieRod securing the front of the carrier to our Sonata. Once that is secure we can move to the back and use the wing nuts to tighten down the back of the carrier.That's all it takes to install our TieRod and now we're about ready to load our bike. We'll replace the top cover at the head of the TieRod and make sure that the skewer is loose and open. more

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Elantra well be test fitting the Yakima Frontloader roof-mounted bike carrier, part number y02103. Now with a roof rack system already on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. Well set the front head of the carrier onto the front crossbar, and then bring the black back bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar. Well then turn the black t-handle at the front of the carrier to tighten down the front bracket against the front crossbar. Once thats tightened down we can then move to the rear of the carrier where we will insert the silver t-bolt into the bottom of the bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down to secure the carrier to the rear crossbar. Once the carrier is secured, were ready to load up our bike. more

With the roof rack system already assembled and onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's cross bars. We'll first loosen up the skewer to allow us to remove the black plastic safety cap, and access the black wing nut. We'll insert the silver T-bolt into the bottom part of the bracket to pinch the brackets up against the front cross bar. We'll then tighten down the black wing nut to secure the front of the carrier to the front cross bar. We'll then slide in the black plastic bracket and replace our skewer. more

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Elantra well be test fitting the Thule Domestique Fork Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. To begin our test fit I went ahead and removed the skewer and loosened up the bolts to free up our front clamp. Well go ahead and take our carrier and place it on top of our load bars. We want to make sure that the front clamp fits around our front load bar and that our rear clamp fits around our rear load bar. Well go ahead and secure the front part of our carrier by tightening down each of the bolts to secure our clamp. Now we can move to the rear and use an Allen key to tighten down the bolts and secure the rear of our carrier. more

With the roof rack system already assembled onto the vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll go ahead and remove the black plastic cap to bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the front load bar and hook them into position. Once we have these into position, we can then go ahead and use an Allen key to tighten them down. We'll go ahead and replace the black plastic cap, and then move to the rear, where we'll undo the Allen bolts and swing around our clamp to fit our load bar. Once we have the clamp into position, we can then tighten down the Allen bolts with the Allen key, and secure it to our carrier. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number y02103. To begin our test fit we'll go ahead and place the bike rack onto the crossbars and we'll make sure that the front clamp here at the head of the bike rack goes around our front crossbar. We'll then move to the rear clamp where we'll make sure that the clamp runs underneath the rear crossbar adjusting it as necessary.We can then take the T-bolt, pass it through the clamp, twist it a quick 90 degrees and tighten down the wing nut securing the rear clamp to the rear crossbar. We'll move back to the head of the bike rack where we'll tighten down the wing nut here on the front clamping the front head to our front crossbar thereby securing our bike rack to the vehicle.We'll now go ahead and fold the front wheel hoop up and undo the strap for our rear wheel. We'll then place the bike into the carrier making sure that the front wheel rolls forward into the front wheel hoop. We'll also want to make sure that the rear front wheel hoop rolls up onto the wheel. more
